  • Have an annual income of under $25,000 (or no income).
  • Spend at least 3 hours a week working on your own business to reduce your dependence on government assistance.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident at least 18 years old and not currently incarcerated.
  • Be the primary caretaker of children under 13 years old living in your home (the children must also meet citizenship or residency requirements).
  • Have a household income of less than $100,000; have savings of less than $10,000.

Applicants will be given one year to meet these requirements. Once they have met this criterion they are eligible to receive the grant which can be up to $15,000 over 18 months.
